Dabangg: How the Dabangg movies have fared at the box office

Dabangg 3 is the third instalment in the Dabangg franchise. This year, Salman Khan will once again reprise his role as Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg 3. The film is a sequel to the 2012 film Dabangg 2. The movie stars Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sudeep in lead roles. The Dabangg movies have been hugely successful in India. Salman Khan fans have ensured that the franchise's popularity has only increased, over the years. Every Dabangg movie was a big hit at the box office.

Dabangg box office collections

The first instalment in the Dabangg franchise collected a total of 140 crores across India. The movie was able to gather a whopping ₹81.50 crores in its first week. Dabangg collected a total of ₹140.22 crores in India and a whopping ₹215 crores worldwide. The story revolved around Chulbul Pandey and his own way of dealing with corruption. The film was directed by Anurag Kashyap and was released in September 2010. 

Dabangg 2 box office collections

Following the success of Dabangg, Salman Khan's portrayal in the cop-comedy created a buzz among the audience. Dabangg 2 was released two years after Dabangg, in 2012. The film starred Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Prakash Raj in lead roles. Breaking Dabangg's first-week record, Dabangg 2 collected ₹106.78 crores in its first week. Dabangg 2 collected a total of ₹ 155.00 Crores at the box office and ₹ 265.00 Cr worldwide.

Now the audience is waiting for the third instalment from the Dabangg franchise which will be the sequel to Dabangg 2. The movie is directed by Prabhu Deva and is set to release in December this year. The movie stars Sudeep as the main antagonist. The film is about Chulbul Pandey's past and his then love-interest whose name is not yet disclosed but the character is played by Saiee Manjrekar, the daughter of the popular actor, Mahesh Manjrekar. Given the previous movies' box office collection, Dabangg 3 is expected to make a bang at the box office.
