Actor Deepika Pukone says she gave her d to Kabir Khan's "83" as she believes contribution of family or spouse of a sportsperson is t recognized. Deepika will essay role of Romi Dev, wife to cricketing legend Kapil Dev, to be played by her real-life husband, actor Ranveer Singh.

This will be duo's fourth collaboration after 2018's "Pmaavat". "Kabir thought of me for film. It's a very small role but a very special role because I feel like role of a spouse or family is t always given eugh credit," Deepika told reporters here. "When you look at athletes and when y win and perform on an international st and platform, family gets very little recognition. Keeping that in mind I wanted to do film," she ded. actor was speaking at 20th edition of IIFA awards.
