Alia Bhatt's sister Shaheen has been quite vocal about her long battle with depression. Shaheen recently revealed about her 'difficult time' in her recent book 'Never Been (Un)Happier' in which she detailed her struggles all throughout her teenage life, her suicidal thoughts and the body shaming she faced.

In a recent interview, Shaheen opened up about her mental health and praising her honesty and insight, Deepika wrote, " "A little late in the day but I couldn’t agree more Aloo... her honesty & insight really amazes me...love you both!❤️😋😘 #ShaheenBhatt @aliaa08"

Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been quite open on her struggle with depression. She has often spoken about the phase when she was suffering from depression.

 In 2015, she had revealed that during the shoot of her film 'Happy New Year', she was struggling to go for work each day. It was after she broke out in front of her mother, did she seek professional help from a doctor suggested by her mother. After talking to the psychologist she found out that she has been suffering from anxiety and depression.

Previously, while talking at the press conference at FICCI (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and industry) Flo in Delhi about her depression phase she said that coping with mental illness affects both the individuals and members of their immediate family. She said that there was not much information available from where she could learn and equip herself.

On the work front, the actress will be seen in 'Chhapaak' alongside Vikrant Massey. The film is about an acid-attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal and is all set to hit the theatres in 2020.
