Deepika Padukone was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, which was a blockbuster. actor will w appear next in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, along with Vikrant Massey. She will be seen playing  role of an acid attack survivor named Malti in film, which is based on real life story of Laxmi Agarwal. Deepika opened up about her preparation for role. Deepika Padukone on preparing for Chhapaak

In a recent interview with a magazine, Deepika talked about her preparation for role. She said that emotionally it is her toughest role till date. She had to dig deep to play role of Laxmi with justice. Deepika expressed that movie tells a story about law, justice and survival. After reading script, she was waiting to be a part of movie. It is said that she had to sit for two and a half hours every day for prostics.

A report in a leading daily stated that firstly, Deepika searched on internet to learn how acid attack survivors are affected. She saw all available photos and videos about Laxmi to fully kw her life. Laxmi herself has been very supportive of sharing intricate details of her journey with film's makers. y provided Deepika with DVDs and pen drives that contained information about 10 survivors as a research source.

shooting of film was wrapped a few months back. In an interview with a news portal, director Meghna Gulzar talked about how emotional experience of shooting film was mainly due to ownership every crew member took in making it everyone. Both Deepika and Meghna shared news of film's wrap on ir social media handles.

Chhapaak

Chhapaak is based on life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, played by Deepika Padukone. Vikrant Massey will essay role of Laxmi's life partner and social activist Alok Dixit.  movie is slated to release on January 10, 2020. first poster of film was released a few months back. Take a look.
