Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The celebrity couple first met on the sets of their 2013 film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and fell in love. They continued to date in secret before tying the knot in 2018. In between, they worked on two more movies- Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Padmaavat (2018). Interestingly, DeepVeer is one of those rare couples in Bollywood whose films have worked at the box office.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ram-Leela marked the beginning of an actor pair and director collaboration that would go on to make an indelible mark on the history of Indian cinema. The movie worked well at the domestic box office and abroad and posited DeepVeer as one of the most lucrative onscreen pairs. Ram-Leela minted a little over ₹152 crore at the India box office and $7.8 million abroad, taking its total gross to ₹201 crore worldwide.

Bajirao Mastani

By the time Bajirao Mastani released in 2015, rumours of Deepika and Ranveer being in a serious relationship were rife. This helped the film do good at the box office. The movie was again directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and was a commercial and critical hit. It collected ₹255 crore in India and a little over ₹100 crore abroad, taking its total gross to ₹356 crore worldwide.

Padmaavat

In Padmaavat, DeepVeer was joined by Shahid Kapoor, who was paired opposite Deepika. Ranveer played the antagonist and earned accolades for his intense act in the movie. This would become their biggest hit together. It released a few months before their marriage in 2018. Padmaavat collected ₹360 crore in India and ₹185 crore abroad, taking its final gross worldwide to ₹545 crore.

Although Deepika plays a small part in the film, it is still considered one of their movies together. 83, directed by Kabir Khan, has been DeepVeer's lowest-grossing film so far. Released during the pandemic in 2021, the film collected ₹186 crore worldwide.

Deepika and Ranveer's success rate is 100 percent. Their movies together have collected well over ₹1200 crore at the box office. They are way ahead of other Bollywood contemporary real-life pairs like Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt and Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who have one odd or no hits together in their kitties.
