Deepika Padukone’s movies are among the most anticipated movies every year. The recent news is that the actor is all set to star in the Bollywood remake of Anushka Shetty-starrer Arundhati.

Will Deepika Padukone join the horror club?
According to reports, Deepika Padukone is in talks to star in the Bollywood remake of the Telugu horror film, Arundhati. The rights of the same have been bought and the actor will reportedly step in the shoes of Anushka Shetty’s role in the film. The film has already been remade in Bengali as Arundhati and was a huge commercial success.

Considering Deepika Padukone’s recent track record of films like Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, Tamasha, etc, we can expect the Bollywood remake to be a huge hit as well. Reportedly, Deepika Padukone also hinted at being a part of a dark film. Further details about who will be starring along with the actor and who will be directing the film have not been revealed yet.
The original 2009 horror film Arundhati starred Anushka Shetty, Sonu Sood, Arjan Bajwa, Manorama, and Sayaji Shinde. The film was directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. The film was an enormous success and became the highest-grossing Telugu film of that year.

Deepika Padukone has also announced that she will be starring an adaptation of the Mahabharata. The film will be from the viewpoint of the Panchala princess Draupadi. Deepika Padukone will also be co-producing the film as well.

Deepika Padukone has currently wrapped up the shooting of Chhapaak. The film is based on the life of acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal. The film will be releasing in January 2020.
The actor will be further seen in ’83 opposite her husband Ranveer Singh. The film is based on Indian cricketer, Kapil Dev. The film is currently being shot and will release in April 2020.
