Deepika Pukone started her career with modelling. It was after two years that she was offered le role in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. It is said that despite her far Prakash Pukone being a bminton champion, movies were t first choice for Deepika. She is also an excellent bminton player. In an interview with a leing fashion publication, Deepika Pukone opened up about her path in film industry. actress said that although she was good in acemics and sports, she decided to give films a try. “I think I just walked into unkwn. We didn't watch too many movies growing up, and most of my childhood went into school coursework and professional bminton. As a family, we led a very disciplined, structured life. Everything was planned. Cinema didn't feature too much, but whenever it did, it felt familiar. I always felt like this is what I was meant to do. And it all happened very quickly”, she told Harper’s Bazaar India. “Two years after I became a model, Farah [Khan] offered me Om Shanti Om. rest of journey, until a couple of years ago, was really about understanding, absorbing, and discovering Bollywood and myself, and making my mistakes along way,” she ded.

However, actress feels that it took her five years to finally understand medium. She believes that it all changed for her with Homi ajania’s Cocktail (2012). While continuing to express, Pmavat actress said, “I felt I finally understood what medium really is, and impact cinema can have on people and society. I began to get more comfortable with myself, and everything just started making sense to me. When you see film fraternity as an outsider, you imagine it to be a certain way, and I was t fearful anymore.” On work front, Deepika Pukone will next be seen in Chhapaak, which is slated to release in 2020.
