"While friends can be re for you, listen and even give you vice, you have to be able to do same for yourself.
I think, for me, so much of my anxiety comes from need for validation. People assume that being an artist, I can effortlessly put myself out re, but it’s tough. Every time I showcase my work, like anything else, it is critiqued. It’s like a part of me is being scrutinised.
I once overheard some work colleagues discussing ir struggles with anxiety, and that entire conversation really hit home. I realised I felt similarly in multiple situations throughout my life. I started going to rapy, talking to people that were close to me. While all this helped, I knew that I couldn’t depend on ors forever; I needed to help myself. So I taught myself how to do that. I constantly talked to myself about how I was feeling, so I could actually understand what was happening. I think that for me, greatest antidote to anxiety is acceptance of reality.
I’ve h to learn to live with this feeling and t get angry at myself for it, and every time I’m able to talk myself out of it, I count it as a win." - @masabagupta
