Devara: The trailer of the Jr NTR-Saif Ali Khan starrer was unveiled in Mumbai today. The movie is scheduled to hit the big screens on September 27. At at the trailer launch, Saif, who plays the antagonist in the film has shared how he was cast.

Saif Ali Khan on how he was cast as Bhaira in Devara 

On September 10, the cast and crew of Devara came together for the trailer launch of the film. Speaking at the trailer launch Saif Ali Khan, who plays the role of Bhaira the antagonist, shared how he was cast in the movie. He expressed gratitude to Vishal Bharadwaj who was the director of Omkara.  

Speaking at the event, “I am glad that Tarak ji wanted me in it and Siva sir wanted me in it. I think they’d seen Omkara and remembered it. I should thank Vishal ji still." In Omkara, Saif plays the role of Langda Tyagi in the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial. He further spoke about his role in Devara, “It’s a very interesting character. Because there’s a young version, there’s an older version, there’s crazy make-up. Also, it’s more like an anti-hero than a straight antagonist. There are many layers to it."

Talking about his entry in the Telugu industry, the actor shared, “It is like an entry into a new kind of cinema and according to me, a cutting edge of Indian cinema right now. I was really excited to get an offer from a big movie made from the South industry, they’ve made some incredible movies. And I think the future is going to be collaborations between North and South."

The makers of the upcoming film “Devara-Part 1” unveiled the trailer of the film on Tuesday, which is all about bloodshed, fights and a little bit of romance. The over two-minute-long trailer showcases an epic fight between the man of the masses and Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan. The trailer begins with a narration and the line “Bahut lambi kahaani hai. Khoon se samundar ko laal kardene waali kahaani,” suggests that the film will have a lot of bloodshed.

In a storyline, which showcases two generations, NTR Jr plays the role of Devara, a saviour while Saif essays shades of grey. Janhvi Kapoor , who is making her debut in Telugu films with Kortala Siva’s film, plays the role of the Telugu superstar’s love interest. However, their romance was not showcased in the trailer.
