Dilip Kumar, Saira Banu slap defamation notice on builder, seek apology, Rs 200 crore in damages
Veteran actor Dilip Kumar and his wife Saira Banu have sent a defamation notice to builder Samir Bhojwani in the ongoing controversy over their bungalow in Bandra, Mumbai. The veteran couple has made two demands from the builder in the notice and accused him of making false and defamatory statements against them.

In tice, y have sought an apology from Bhojwani and Rs 200 crore in dams for defaming m in public with ir statements.
Kumar and Banu h in January 2018 lodged a police complaint, accusing Bhojwani of forging title documents of ir bungalow worth Rs 250 crore located in Pali Hill area of upmarket suburb.

On December 21, 2018, Bhojwani h issued a public tice claiming he was "rightful owner" of said property.
He h furr claimed 96-year-old spian was only a "lessee" of property.

Taking objection to this, Kumar and his actress-wife on December 31, 2018, sent a defamation tice to Bhojwani for misleing public with false and defamatory statements.
"Bhojwani has damd reputation of Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu in public by making false and defamatory statement against m," said tice sent to Bhojwani by star couple's vocate Chirag Shah.

"On basis of forged and fabricated documents, Bhojwani is claiming ownership of a property, originally owned by Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu," tice said.
It ded actor h alrey filed an FIR with city police's Ecomic Offences Wing (EOW) against Bhojwani and ors for criminal conspiracy, cheating and forgery.

"Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu are legitimate owners of property situated at Pali Hill in Bandra and have acquired same in September 1953," tice said.
tice furr maintained chargesheet filed by police in case against Bhojwani stated that realtor h claimed ownership of property on basis of forged documents.
"Bhojwani issued public tice on December 21, 2018 with a criminal intention to grab/encroach legitimate rights of Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu by creating a perception in public that he (Bhojwani) is owner of property," it said.
