Divya Dutta talks about nepotism in Bollywood, says it should be called 'favouritism'

In a recent interview with a leing publication, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actress Divya Dutta expressed her thoughts about nepotism in Bollywood. Dutta felt that re was thing such as an ‘outsider’ or ‘insider’ in Bollywood. actress said that someone may t belong to film industry but would still be a part of ‘group’. Furr, she also felt that such ‘groups’ did t just comprise of star-kids in Bollywood but or actors as well. She, hence, felt that such a situation should be referred to as favouritism rar than branding situation as outsiders vs insiders. She also believed that favouritism existed in all industries.

Furr, she also said that actors shouldn’t be judged for ir friends. Dutta felt that se things were a matter of ‘personal choice’. According to Dutta, people should t be judged for favouring anybody as everyone has ir own journey. She said that only thing that people could do was to introspect and be sensitive towards one ar.

Dutta also talked about importance of mental health in interview. According to actress, re was point in just tweeting about mental health and reducing matter to a ‘panel discussion’. She furr said that people are quite superficial se days due to which y do t reach out to ors who need m. actress also expressed her anger regarding same and said that she was quite anyed by people who tweet about mental health on social media without taking any kind of action in real life. This also me Dutta question sensitivity of people.

To establish commonality of ‘favouritism’, Dutta said that film industry is t only industry that experienced phemen. However, she said that since personal lives of celebrities were a part of public domain, such an issue was highlighted more and hence at ‘forefront’. actress also felt that every industry h ‘its pressures and stress factors’.

Divya Dutta me her debut in Bollywood with 1994 film, Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna. She got her big breakthrough in Yash-Chopra’s 2004 romantic drama, Veer-Zaara.
