Durga Ashtami: Bollywood stars celebrate festival with great fervour

As Durga Puja celebrations are running parallel with Navaratri, several Bollywood stars such as Amitabh Bachchan celebrated the festival with great fervour.

As Durga Puja celebrations are running parallel with Navaratri, several Bollywood stars celebrated festival with great fervour. According to reports, Bollywood's 'Shehenshah' Amitabh Bachchan and wife Jaya Bachchan were spotted at  rth Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samiti seeking blessings from goddess Durga. While Amitabh wore a white kurta-pyjama along with his signature style shawl, wife Jaya wore a white tritional Bengali saree. Furr, Bachchans were joined by Kajol, her son Yug and Ayan Mukerji. Kajol wore a yellow silk saree that showcased  finesse of Bengali art and culture.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra celebrates Durga Puja

As per post on Instagram, Shilpa Shetty Kundra also marked day by feeding girls on Durga Ashtami. actress shared a picture on her Instagram where she can be seen feeding  girls along with her son Vihaan. In her Instagram caption, she wrote, " wait is finally over as Goddess who rides on lion has arrived. re should be sorrows in my life and I pray that your life be full of happiness. Happy Durga Ashtami."

About festival

eighth day of Navaratri or Durga Puja is celebrated as Durga Ashtami. It is a Hindu festival that is celebrated to mark victory of good over evil. People offer prayers at temples of Goddess Durga, prepare feasts and fly kites during festival. Devotees also listen to tritional music and religious songs.
