In the letter, she stated, "Countless millions suffer persecution on top of harassment because no one speaks out and if someone does, it opens and closes like a case file, discussed, debated but never a rightful conclusion. This is making people uncomfortable, uneasy, agitated because the deep-seated misogynistic programming of our society has conditioned it to shove it deep in our subconscious. This dialogue is bringing it out. Smear campaigns and violent outbursts are part of the same persecution machinery. It's an awareness campaign and a process to induce personal responsibility for one's own actions. Public figures getting away sends a very wrong message in a society that is crumbling from the inside. These are sensitive times...A sensitive, intelligent and enlightened approach is needed to look at it."
