EXCLUSIVE | 'Sacred Games' actress Kubbra Sait feels onus of censorship lies on the viewers and not on the makers

Talking about the controversial character Kubbra Sait played in the web series and how Indian censorship should be more relaxed about similar content, she said that it is the viewer's responsibility and not of the makers because they are the ones who chose what they want to watch.

We all kw 'Cuckoo' from 'Sacred Games', actress Kubbra Sait, who became an online sensation after her portrayal as a trans in Netflix original series. Currently, Sait is attending a literature fest, titled 'Spoken' which celebrates culmination of art, poetry and music. 

Republic TV exclusively got in touch with actress where she shared her views on several sensational issues of recent times. Talking about controversial character she played in web series and how Indian censorship should be more relaxed about similar content, she said that it is viewer's responsibility and t of makers because y are ones who chose what y want to watch.

"Providing a sense of comfort, a sense of relief, a sense of ackwledgement or a sense of truth through creativity is just freedom of speech which is a part of our constitution. So, I think with kind of platforms that we have where it is available for you to see if you want to see. So if I am selecting something I want to see, where is question of censorship? I am actually going to watch 'Sacred Games' and it says that it has langu, nudity, violence, and still if I chose to on it, it is my responsibility and t of makers." she said in a statement.

Starring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in le roles with Anurag Kashyap's direction, 'Sacred Games' Kubbra's role won hearts all over country.

Her confidence to play such a complicated character with ease came with Kashyap's direction even though she was roped in at very last minute. From what we kw, one can say that actress left stone unturned in preparation of her portrayal of 'Cuckoo' in best manner possible for which she received much appreciation. However, just like two sides of a coin, actress was also heavily trolled online for her role.
