Farhan Akhtar reveals reason behind the name 'The Sky is Pink'

Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra are on a promotional spree for the movie ‘The Sky is Pink’. The movie is slated to hit the screens on October 11, 2019. Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar along with Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf would be seen in the lead roles. The movie is directed by Shonali Bose.
Recently, Farhan Akhtar and the team of ‘The Sky is Pink’ was featured on the 'The Kapil Sharma Show' for the promotion of the movie. Priyanka and Farhan revealed a lot of interesting details about their movie and their personal life. While Priyanka told Kapil about Nick picking up gas cylinders at her wedding, Farhan was mocked by the comedian about asking Abhay Deol to never to sing again after he gave his vocals to the song ‘Senorita’. The stars even shared a fun moment on-set where they ate panipuri on the show.

Why the movie titled 'The Sky is Pink'?
The comedian asked Farhan Akhtar about the title of the movie. Kapil said that normally the sky is blue in colour, so why is the movie titled The sky is Pink? It was then that Farhan revealed the reason behind the name.

Farhan revealed that there is a scene in the movie that explains the movie's name. The scene is a phone call conversation between 'Aditi', the character played by Priyanka and her son, Ishaan. Ishaan complains about his teacher who scolded him for painting the colour of the sky as pink. To which his mother replies that ‘No one can tell you which colour your sky should be. You are the one who paints your own sky.’

This is the reason why the name of the movie is ‘The Sky is Pink’. The movie is based on the love story of a couple spanning 25 years, told through the lens of their spunky teenage daughter, Aisha Chaudhary, who gets diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis.
