Farhan Akhtar on Thursday was trolled for his reaction to nationwide anti-CAA protests. Union Minister Smriti Irani reacted on the video going viral on Twitter.

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar on Thursday was seen at August Kranti Maidan, Mumbai, protesting against Citizenship Amendment Bill. While talking to media re, Farhan was heard citing protests against new citizenship law as an indication of something being wrong with act. "If you go into details, it looks like re can be something in re... If everything was okay, why would so many people be concerned?" he said of protests.

Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani reacted on meme going viral where Farhan's statement was compared to a scene from popular Bollywood film 'Bunty Aur Babli' in which protestors are clueless about ir demands and reason for demonstration.
Farhan also said, "As a citizen of country and as somebody who was born and has grown up with a certain idea of India is, it is important for me to raise my voice... If everything was ok, why would so many people turn up? t just in Mumbai, but Delhi, Assam, Bangalore, Hyderabad."

FARHAN'S APOLOGY AMID ANTI-CAA PROTEST
On Wednesday, Farhan took to Twitter to anunce that he will be partaking in a protest to be held on Thursday at August Kranti Maidan. "See you on 19th at August Kranti Maidan, Mumbai. time to protest on social media alone is over," Farhan said. actor also shared an im that sought to explain ramifications of Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizen (NRC). Soon after post, many Twitter users pointed out a discrepancy in map of India that actor shared.

Farhan tweeted again with a statement, saying he does t endorse map presented on im, which he had reposted from somewhere and apologised for oversight on his part. "I recently posted a mess about a protest meeting on December 19th with a repost of a graphic about meeting. While I stand by text, I have only just ticed that map of India on graphic is inaccurate. Every inch and part of Kashmir is a part of India and I reject inaccurate map. I regret t ticing this earlier. My sincerest apologies for oversight," actor said on a statement posted on Twitter.
