There are many regional actors who have made an attempt to make their career in Hindi Cinema. Here are a few Punjabi actors who tried their luck in the Bollywood film industry.
Soorma – Diljit Dosanjh
Soorma is an Indian biographical sports drama film of the year 2018. Diljit Dosanjh played the lead role of the hockey player Sandeep Singh in the movie. The plot of the movie is based on the real-life story of the Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh who made headlines for his miraculous triumph and comeback after facing a near-death experience through extreme determination and hard work. The role played by Diljit Dosanjh showed unrelenting passion for sport and was critically acclaimed. The movie was helmed by Shaad Ali and bankrolled by Sony Pictures Network India in collaboration with C.S Films. Soorma also featured Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi in pivotal roles.

Phoonk 2 – Neeru Bajwa
Neeru Bajwa featured in the movie Phoonk 2 of the year 2010. Phoonk 2 is an Indian horror film directed by Milind Gadagar. The movie also stars Sudeep, Amruta Khanvilkar and Ahsaas Channa in significant roles. The plot of the movie revolves around the life of a father and his children who are terrorised by their own wife and mother, respectively.

The Xpose – Yo Yo Honey Singh
The Xpose is a romantic thriller movie directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. The movie featured the Indi-pop Punjabi singer and actor Yo Yo Honey Singh. The singer played a negative role in the movie, and the film also marked his Bollywood debut. The movie also stars Himesh Reshammiya, Irrfan Khan, Zoya Afroz and Sonali Raut in significant roles.

Loot – Mika Singh
Loot is a comedy film of the year 2011, which was jointly directed by Rajnish Thakur and Sanjay Khanna. The plot of the film is based on four burglars who end up stealing a vehicle from robbers and breaking in the house of a notorious gangster.
