Gadar 2: 10,000 tickets sold within hours for Day 1, Sunny Deol film set for big opening

Gadar 2 is all set to hit the big screens on August 11. The film stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles. Advance booking for the film opened in select cinema halls and the response has been overwhelming.

Gadar 2 tickets selling like hot cakes

Gadar 2 advance booking opened on August 1. For the opening day, the film has sold 10,000 tickets amounting to Rs 25 lakh so far, as per Sacnilk. Box Office India reported that advance booking has not yet opened at major cinema chains yet.

Some of the major theatres that have opened advance bookings for the film are Cinepolis, Moviemax and Miraj. On the first day, Cinepeolis sold 1800 tickets, Moviemax sold 700 and 500 tickets were sold at Miraj. It is also being reported that the movie has seen solid sales at single-screen theatres. The biggest advance booking registered by a single screen for the film was in Patiala, Punjab where 1000 tickets were sold on the first day. 

Why Gadar 2 pulls the audience to the theatre?

Gadar 2 trailer has helped in creating a strong buzz for the movie ahead of its release. What also draws the audience’s interest is the film’s recall value. The movie is a sequel to the Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) which went on to become a massive hit. The movie gained a cult classic status among the audience and the songs, scenes and dialogues are remembered even now. 

In Gadar 2 Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will reprise their roles of Tara Singh and Sakeena. The film was cleared by the CBFC with a U/A certificate and is said to have a run time of 2 hours and 55 minutes, making it one of the longest Bollywood movies ever. The movie's clash with OMG 2 might, however, affect its business.
