Gadar 2 Box Office Collection Day 4: Sunny's film beats Pathaan, KGF 2, Dangal's records
A sequel to Sunny Deol's 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the Anil Sharma directorial has become a runaway hit at the domestic box office.

Gadar 2 has been going all guns blazing at the box office ever since its release on August 11. Making its theatrical debut alongside Akshay Kumar's OMG 2, with their release coinciding with the Independence Day weekend, the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel-fronted sequel has broken the record for highest ever non-holiday Monday collection.

Gadar 2 sets all-time Monday record
A sequel to Sunny Deol's 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, the Anil Sharma directorial has become a runaway hit at the domestic box office, amassing Rs 134.88 crore net in its opening weekend. It collected another Rs 38.70 crore nett on Monday, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, propelling its 4-day earnings to Rs 173.58 crore. This makes it a record for the highest collection on a non-Holiday Monday.

Gadar 2 has surpassed the 1st Monday collection of Pathaan (Rs 26.5 crore) and KGF Chapter 2 (Hindi- Rs 29.5 crore) and Dangal (Rs 25.69 crore) and is eyeing an even bigger figure on Tuesday. As per BOI, Gadar 2 is heading for outstanding results at the box office even post the August 15 holiday.
Sunny Deol says Gadar 2 is a personal film
At a press meet in Mumbai, Sunny Deol said, "I'm connected with Tara Singh and I didn't want to leave any stone unturned for Tara Singh. I wanted to connect with the audience because I wanted them to connect with Tara Singh," Deol said.

Gadar 2 is set in 1971 and follows Tara Singh's journey to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh from the Pakistani Army. The original was set during the Partition period.
