Gadar 2: CBFC clears film with 10 cuts after removing riot scene, modifying dialogues?

Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 is all set to make its theatrical debut on August 11. Ahead of its release, the film was screened by the Central Board of Film Certification. The board cleared the movie with a U/A certificate after ordering 10 cuts.

What are the changes ordered by Censor Board to Gadar 2 makers? 

As per reports, a scene in which people are seen shouting "Har Har Mahadev" during a riot has been cut. The song line "Akhand hai woh sang hai" has taken the place of the "Shiv Tandav" shlokas. The word "Idiot" has been used in place of "Bastard." In accordance with the CBFC's directives, the designation of the Defence Minister has also been corrected to "Raksha Mantri." The phrase from "Har Jhande Ko" has been appropriately adjusted, and the term "Tirange" has been changed to "Jhande."

Reportedly, the movie's material underwent more changes. To maintain cultural sensitivity, a specific passage that alluded to the respected holy scriptures Quran and Bhagavad Gita was appropriately changed.

Due to viewers' complaints over offensive words and situations in films, the CBFC has recently come under fire. As a result, the board asked Gadar 2's directors to show genuine documentary proof for all of the allusions to the 1971 India-Pakistan conflict that were made in the film. An English translation of the shlokas and mantras performed in the movie was provided in response to the board's request.

What is Gadar's 2 plotline? 

Gadar 2 is set in Lahore with the backdrop of 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film will take place 17 years after the events of its prequel. Along with Sunny and Ameesha, the director’s son Utkarsh Sharma will also be back to reprise his role of Jeete -- Tara and Sakeena’s son.
