Gadar 2, OMG 2, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani propel weekend box office to huge number

It looks like Bollywood is finally on the path of revival. With films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2, and Gadar 2 occupying almost full shows on most days after their premiere, it looks like these releases have collectively brought in excellent business this Sunday (August 13).

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2, and Gadar 2 set box office afire

August 13, the first day of the ongoing long weekend, turned out to be a golden day for the box office numbers of these three films. Altogether, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2, and Gadar 2 earned a solid Rs 72.50 crore (roughly) at the commercial window in a day. This is reportedly the biggest single-day haul of all time for Bollywood.

As per entertainment portal Sacnilk, the Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer pocketed Rs 4.1 crore nett on Sunday, which was its 17th day at the theatres. Meanwhile, film trade analyst expert Sumit Kadel posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) about Sunday’s early estimates for Gadar 2 and OMG 2, which stood at Rs 50-53 crore nett and Rs 18 crore nett, respectively. 
Further, in three days since its release, Gadar 2 has already crossed Rs 130 crore, while OMG 2 has managed Rs 43.56 crore, Sacnilk added.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, OMG 2, and Gadar 2 cross Rs 188.29 cr?

The impressive one-day number of the three films also translated into a robust combined weekend collection. Reports suggest that the trio helped the commercial window get Rs 188.29 crore over the weekend. Further, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently posted that the total collection of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is now Rs 126.83 crore in India.

Rajnikanth’s Jailer is a winner at the box office too

Apart from these Bollywood movies, there is Rajnikanth starrer Jailer too in the race. This directorial of Nelson that released on August 10 might cross Rs 300 on its first weekend, as per trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan. In an exclusive chat with Republic Digital, he said, “Breakeven target was ₹250 cr. It has been achieved now. The movie's total after four days is above 300 crore."
