Aamir Khan and Suriya gear up to shoot Ghajini 2?
National Award winner Suriya is set to star in the Tamil version of Ghajini 2 with Amir Khan. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the Kanguva actor was asked about the blockbuster hit Ghajini and his experience working on the masterpiece. He replied saying, "It's surprising that you mentioned Ghajini 2 now. After a long time, Allu Aravind approached me with the idea of a sequel and asked if it was possible. I said, 'Definitely, sir, we can consider it.' Talks have started, and things are in progress. Ghajini 2 might happen."
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena are planning to make waves in the film industry by shooting Ghajini 2 simultaneously in both Hindi and Tamil.
Hindi and Tamil sequel of Ghajini will be shot together?
The report also stated that both Suriya and Aamir Khan are keen on the idea of Ghajini 2, but they do not want the film labelled as a remake. They expressed concerns that whichever film releases first could lose its uniqueness, and they shared these thoughts with the producers. In response, Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena proposed filming both Ghajini sequels simultaneously and releasing them on the same day.
The source also revealed that Aamir Khan and Suriya are mostly in agreement with the plan for a simultaneous release of Ghajini 2, but they are waiting for the final scripts before committing.
"Creating a sequel to a cult classic like Ghajini carries a lot of responsibility, as the first film was a milestone in both actors' careers. Their main concern is to ensure the sequel feels natural and isn’t driven solely by profit. While they like the idea, they are waiting for narrations at different stages of development. The script is still being worked on, and more details should be available by mid-2025," the report added.
