Malang released on February 7 this year and er fans flocked to atres to watch film. fans of actors loved movie and praised it on social media. However, film was t received well by Goa chief minister. According to a news portal, officials were quoted saying that film portrays state of Goa in a negative light.

most recent film before Malang to be marred by controversies was Deepika Pukone-starrer Chhapaak. film spoke about acid attack survivors and ir everyday struggle. film was inspired by story of Laxmmi Aggarwal, who is a real-life acid attack survivor. film was hailed for its brave storytelling upon trailer release; however, due to some major unrest in country, film received negative publicity. film was shunned by audiences after ims of le actor Deepika surfaced where she was spotted standing in solidarity with protesters.

Pmaavat
One of longest-running controversies was for film Pmaavat directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. film saw it all, from death threats to ultimatums to violence inflicted upon director. film was however finally released with several cuts. group who rejected film were of idea that film portrays a historical figure in a negative light. cast and crew argued that such negativity was shown in film, despite that protest continued.

film spoke of crucial topic of reservation and shed light on impending issues that several groups faced. However, protesters were against film due to casting of Saif Ali Khan as a Dalit in film, as he belonged to a royal background. film was banned in states of Uttar Presh, Punjab and Andhra Presh.

film starring Rajkummar Rao and Maj Bajpayee is among few underrated films of Bollywood. film received an A certificate from censor board. Hansal Mehta, director of film, mentioned to a news portal that he was surprised by certification of film. director also called board homophobic for ir certification. However, CBFC argued that y gave certification as children and teenrs should t be subjected to such content.
