Gully Boy: Ranveer and Alia starrer wins maximum international awards

A couple of weeks back, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar made a big announcement that his sister Zoya Akhtar's directorial - Gully Boy had been India's official entry for 92nd Oscar awards. Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead characters grabbed the attention of the audience and managed to collect approximately Rs 220 crores at the box office. The gripping storyline of the film and the characters caught many eyeballs not just in India but across the globe. Thanks to Alia and Ranveer's power-packed performance, the film has managed to bag plenty of awards.

Other than its official entry at the Oscar Awards 2019, the film was nominated for the following awards nationally as well as at international film festivals.

Asian Academy Creative Awards 2019 for Best Feature Film

Gully Boy was nominated along with Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho, Sui Dhaaga, and Super Deluxe at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2019. 

23rd Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival 2019

Popularly known as BiFan, the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival is an international film festival helmed in Bucheon, South Korea. Gully Boy was nominated for and won the award for Best Film. 

Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2019

The Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh starrer was screened at IFFM 2019, and also won the title of Best Film. The film also highlighted Vijay Raaz and Siddhant Chaturvedi's terrific performances.  

Other Nominations

Apart from winning these prestigious awards, Gully Boy was also nominated as Best Film for Jameson CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival 2019 and World Cinema Amsterdam 2019 for Best Film.

What the story of Gully Boy is about

The Zoya Akhtar directorial released on February 14, 2019. The film features Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, and Siddhant Chaturvedi in significant roles. Kalki Koechlin, Amruta Subhash, and Vijay Raaz were also seen playing pivotal characters in the movie. Gully Boy narrates the struggles of an aspiring rapper named Murad and his journey from rags to riches is noteworthy.
