Gully Boy prepares for Oscars with Asian award, Farhan Akhtar jubilant
Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt's 'Gully Boy' has won the best film from India award in the regional finals at the Asian Academy Creative Awards ceremony.

After becoming India's first official entry to 92nd Oscar Awards, Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy has w won best film from India award in regional finals at Asian Acemy Creative Awards ceremony. To celebrate same, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar who has co-produced venture with sister Zoya Akhtar took to social media and expressed happiness over victory. He also congratulated entire team in a tweet. "Gully Boy wins best film from India in regional finals of Asian Acemy Creative Awards. Congratulations team," he wrote.

Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in le is a film that draws inspiration from lives of Mumbai street rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy and revolves around underground rap movement in India. Besides le pair, Zoya Akhtar directorial also stars Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Raaz in pivotal roles. In flick, Ranveer Singh and Siddhant Chaturvedi play budding street rappers Mur and MC Sher from Mumbai's Dharavi, while Alia Bhatt essays role of Safeena, an aspiring medical student in love with Mur.

Gully Boy which released on February 14, 2019, performed extremely well at box office. t just hitting Rs 100-crore mark, film earned around Rs 140 crore at domestic box office. It was also first film where Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt shared screen-.

Meanwhile, As Film Federation of Indian jury anunced ir decision of minating Gully Boy for Oscars, Farhan Akhtar was extremely delighted and thanked jury for hour. Farhan Akhtar also h put out a post congratulating his team that also included Siddhanth Chaturvedi, Kalki Koechlin, and Ritesh Sidhwani.
