'Gully Boy' Ranveer Singh on cloud nine as film is chosen for Oscars

Ranveer Singh is enjoying a dream run at box office and his success earned ar validation with his movie ‘Gully Boy’ being anunced as India’s official entry for Academy Awards next year. After anuncement made by Film Federation of India jury, Ranveer exulted, “‘Gully Boy’ echoed voice of streets, it will always be one of my most personal films. As always, I will keep striving towards making flag of Hindi cinema fly high. I’m very happy that passionate hard work that our cast and crew put into creating ‘Gully Boy’ is reaping rewards. It’s a proud moment for our entire team. I’m especially proud of and happy for Zoya! - ‘Gully Boy’ is her (Tiger) baby, and I am blessed to have been a part of her maverick vision. Gully Boy success
‘Gully Boy’, a story about a boy from Mumbai slums rising to become a famous rapper, had released on February 14. It was hailed by critics and audiences also gave it thumbs up. film turned out to be a success, earning around Rs 140 crore at box office in India.
