Kapil Dev has only high praises for actor Ranveer Singh as he responds to the photo posted by Ranveer Singh earlier today. the photo was a still frame from Ranveer Singh's upcoming movie '83 where he is seen replicating the iconic Natraj shot. The Haryana Hurricane Kapil Dev is swept away by the efforts of the actor as he took to social media and shared Ranveer's post and wrote, "Hats off Ranveer!"

Ranveer Singh is going to feature in Kabir Khan's '83 as the former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. The film is about India's win at the 1983 World Cup against West Indies where Kapil Dev was the captain of the Indian cricket team. Actor Ranveer Singh has left no stones unturned to get into the skin of the character he will portray in the film. His resemblance to the veteran cricketer is uncanny and impressive.

About the film

The film is based on the Indian cricket team's victorious campaign at the 1983 Cricket World Cup held in England. Ranveer will be seen essaying the role of the captain of the Indian cricket team, Kapil Dev. The Indian cricket team played against West Indies in the World Cup finals and brought the trophy home.

Actor Deepika Padukone also features in the film as Kapil Dev's wife, and she is also co-producing the film. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Madhu Mantena and Reliance Entertainment. Besides Ranveer Singh, the cast also includes actors such as Tahir Raj Bhasin, Boman Irani, Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, and Sacred Games star Jatin Sarna. Pritam has come on board as the music director for the film, which will hit theatres on April 10, 2020.
