The latest episode of Karan Johar's famous show 'Koffee With Karan' aired on December 23, 2018. The episode featured the famous 'Baahubali' trio Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and the genius filmmaker SS Rajamouli himself. The trio answered many questions including relationship rumours of Prabhas with Anushka Shetty. However, what will grab your attention SS Rajamouli's answer to a trick question from KJo.

When the filmmaker asked Rajamouli if he had the option to make 'Baahubali' with a Bollywood cast who would he choose. To this, the magnum opus helmer said that if that were the case then he would probably cast Deepika Padukone as Devsena, which was actually played by Anushka Shetty. However, he was clear that he would not change his main protagonist and antagonist as Prabhas and Rana are irreplaceable according to him. Well, it looks like Deepika playing the lead in period dramas like 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat' has really impressed Rajamouli as well.
It must be noted that Ramya Krishnan who played Sivagami was also not the first choice and that it was late actress Sridevi who was initially approached for that role. However, things could not work out that way but still, Ramya made sure to deliver one of the finest performances of her lifetime. Now, before anyone gets excited, it must be noted that it was a hypothetical question and after the massive success of the franchise, the director will most certainly not attempt a remake. However, maybe one can see Deepika in a Rajamouli film someday.

Coming to Prabhas' rumoured relationship with Anushka Shetty, it was a matter of much leg pulling and finger pointing as Prabhas said that it was Karan who started it in the first place. Not only did they discuss at length on that but the director also hilariously revealed that someone once thought he was Katappa from the Baahubali films, leading to some raucous laughter in the studio.
