Hollywood box office report: Highest-grossing movies of 2019

2019 has been an interesting year for all movie buffs, with interesting movie releases keeping them at the edge of their seat. The year has been great for the film industry too, with movies like Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, Aladdin and more movies earning big numbers at the box office. Here are some of the movies that managed to earn big numbers and were appreciated by the audience. 

Avengers: End game 

Avengers: Endgame, is the latest film in the Avenger franchise. The movie, starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo, was one of the much-anticipated movies of the year. Reportedly, the movie earned about $858 million worldwide.

The Lion King 

Released in July, the animated drama is one of the highest-grossing Hollywood films of 2019. The Lion King narrates the tale of a lion prince who flees from his kingdom, after the murder of his father. The story traces the journey of the lion prince. Reportedly, the movie managed to collect about $540 million at the box office. Though the movie was a prey of many criticisms, it still managed to earn big numbers at the box office.

Spider-Man: Far from Home

 The movie is a sequel to the 2017s Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film's story revolves around the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The movie has an ensemble cast consisting of actors from the MCU, alongside Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal. Reportedly, the movie managed to collect about $388 million at the box office.

Captain Marvel

The movie managed to introduce a new character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) successfully. Starring Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn in the lead, it was directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Released in March, the movie has managed to garner much appreciation from the MCU fanatics. Reportedly, it raked in about $426 million at the box office.

Toy Story 4
