'I had goosebumps watching it' Anurag Kashyap rave praise on Nawazuddin Siddiqui's 'Manto'
Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently reviewed Nandita Das's directorial 'Manto' that released earlier this year and gave the film a big thumbs up.

Nandita Das's directorial 'Manto' that released earlier this year has been widely praised by the critics for amazing direction and performance of the actors. The biographical drama that narrates the story of famous Urdu author Saadat Hasan Manto, featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular character. Months after the release of the movie, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on Sunday, December 23 shared his views about the film. The director who seems to have watched the film recently gave a huge thumbs up to the project and lauded the direction of the film in great words. In a number of Tweets, he expressed his feelings about the film and announced that the film is now available on Netflix.

In the first Tweet, he praised Nandita Das for her extraordinary achievement in direction and said that he "loved the way each shot was composed the actor's faces and the way it was lit". He further revealed that he is amused that such an exceptional film achieved at such a low cost."

The 'Manmarziyaan' director further continued praising Nawazuddin for his exceptional performance in the film and also lauded Gurudas Mann and the rest of the cast including Tahir Raj Bhasin, Rasika Dugal, Tillotama Shome and Rajshri Deshpande for their out of the box acting. In the post, he wrote, "Nowazuddin’s performance as Manto is easily his best, and that makes me jealous . And what an ingenious casting of Gurudas Mann. Also all actors , Rasika , Rajshri , Tillotama , Taher everyone. Across the board . #Manto"

'Manto' is both scripted and helmed by Nandita Das. The film premiered at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and released in Indian theatres on September 21, 2018.
