I respect both bhakts and critics of PM Narendra Modi, says lead actor of biopic, Vivek Oberoi

Vivek Oberoi, who is portraying Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an upcoming biopic, says he is a "balanced person" and has respect for both the supporters and the detractors of the PM.

During trailer launch of film "PM Narendra Modi", 42-year-old actor said he is t an "extreme" person when it comes to his political leanings. 

"I'm t an extreme kind of a person. I am a balanced person. I appreciate  bhakts and criticism of critics. 

"You are portraying a living legend and those who hate or love him, do that with intensity. People have become his bhakt," he said. 

 actor turned up at event dressed as Modi and he said it was because he was shooting a mont scene for film.

 Omung Kumar-directed film was previously scheduled for April 12, apparently a day after completion of first phase of Lok Sabha elections, but has w been preponed to April 5. 

Vivek eved a query about reports that several opposition parties have sought a ban on film and inste asked producer Ssandeep Singh to respond to it.

"We are filmmakers and y are politicians, we are doing our job, y are doing ir job. As far as propaganda thing is concerned you are journalists, you decide when film releases. 

"We are focusing on releasing film and bringing a true story on screen than who is saying what or sending letter to whom," Singh said. 

Vivek said it took him just 30 seconds to say yes to film. He ded that he got to explore a lot more about Modi after he started working on project. 

"A lot of people thought a film should be me on Narendra Modi as it is a great story, but only Ssandeep Singh me it happen. I took me 30 seconds to say yes to film. My team and director believe I have done justice. I have considered him as an inspiration. 

"I felt I kw him from interactions I have h with him as a neutral person. But when I started doing research for film, I realised that he was never afraid of any difficulties or struggle, he was very clear in his vision."  

When pointed out that a biopic usually tends to whitewash personality it is based on,  producer said y have t shied away from any aspect of Modi's life, including Godhra riots controversy.

Kumar, who has previously directed films such as "Mary Kom" and "Sarbjit", said he has been neutral in his approach.

"I am a very neutral person. It is a big responsibility. story is so inspiring. Who wouldn't want to make a film on him? I like zero to hero story. I like stories of struggle as that inspires one. He did it and we all got inspired from it," Omung said. 

Meanwhile, when Vivek was asked to react on Cobrapost controversy, he said, "I would just say that those who kw truth y kw it all and for those who don't kw, it doesn't matter (Jo Sach jaante hai woh jaante hai aur jo nahi jaante woh matter nahi karte)."  

Vivek was among 30 Bollywood celebrities who were caught in a sting operation, agreeing to promote nda of political parties on social media platforms in exchange for money.
