Remember the war of words on social media between 'Simran' director Hansal Mehta and writer Apurva Asrani two years back over writing credits? Cut to 2019, the two have buried the hatchet and are sharing some love for each other on social media.

As Hansal Mehta celebrated his birthday on April 29, Apurva wrote on Twitter saying, “Happy birthday @mehtahansal. Wish you all the luck, health and resources to tell wonderful stories. Best wishes.” To this, Hansal replied saying, “Thank you dear Apu. I’m growing older and want you to know before it’s too late that I love you.” And Apurva wrote, “I love you too. And I want you to be healthy, happy and doing what you do so well-- i.e tell stories with great compassion. I’m here for you.”

Hansal Mehta spoke to a daily tabloid about his equation with Apurva, and the report quoted him saying: “Life is too short for grudges, particularly with people you only have love for.”

Apurva too told the tabloid that: "I just lost a very close family member (Doobie) and loss teaches you to value what’s important in life. Hansal reached out with condolences yesterday and I realised how much he still means to me. We have been friends for 20 years. I think our bond can absorb a Simran or two.”

For those unaware, Asrani had called Hansal Mehta 'spineless' in his post on social media calling out Kangana Ranaut. Talking about his feeling about Hansal Mehta, Asrani in an interview (2017) said: "I can't say how I'm feeling. It's a mix of hurt, love and understanding. I had thought he'd have my back when I stood upto her. Wish he had stood upto the bully too. Maybe I will understand better when I'm in his shoes, I don't know. But we have finally moved on to newer partnerships and I think that is healthy. I wish him the best."
