IIFA: When Shweta Bachchan, Rekha Cheered For Amitabh-Aishwarya-Abhishek Performing To Kajra Re

Flashback Friday: The stage is set for the IIFA ceremony 2024. The three-day event will commence on September 27 and conclude on September 29. As the audience waits in anticipation for the 24th edition of the awards, an old video from the 2005 IIFA ceremony has made its way to the internet. What makes the video special is that the couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai can be seen sharing the stage with the actor's father Amitabh Bachchan on their song Kajra Re.

In a video shared by an Aishwarya Rai fan page, the trio could be seen performing to their song Kajra Re. The song was originally also filmed on Aishwarya, Amitabh and Abhishek in the film Bunty Aur Babli in which the the father and daughter-in-law duo appeared in cameo appearances. The video circulating online is from the IIFA ceremony in 2005, 2 years before Abhishek and Aishwarya tied the knot.

However, what caught attention was the reaction of Amitabh's daughter Shweta Bachchan and veteran actress Rekha to the performance. While the dance commences with Aishwarya and Abhishek, Big B joins in later garnering massive cheer from the audience. In the video, Abhishek Bachchan could also be seen approaching his sister to join in the performance, but she grooves from her seat.

The video has also caught netizens' attention among rumours of trouble in paradise for Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan. The couple's social media activity and solo public appearances have ignited rumours of them heading for a divorce. A rift in the Bachchan family is said to be the reason behind the alleged split.

Aishwarya Rai heads out to IIFA 2024 in Abu Dabhi

On September 26, Aishwarya Rai along with her daughter Aradhaya were spotted at the Mumbai airport. The duo made their way to the IIFA 2024 ceremony taking place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Photos and videos of the duo from the venue are now viral online.

The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) returns to Abu Dhabi for the third time on September 27. Some of the biggest names of the Indian film fraternity such as Ram Charan, Rana Dagubatti, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, are set to add sparkle to the glitzy affair. The IIFA event made its debut in 2000 and has since been celebrated in a variety of picturesque locales, including New York, Abu Dhabi, Toronto, Singapore, Johannesburg, Amsterdam, Dubai, Colombo, and Tampa Bay. For the 24th edition, the three-day event will be held at the 18,000-seater Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, and will conclude on September 29.
