Jab We Met hit the screens 12 years ago and since then, every girl has believed there is a bit of actor Kareena Kapoor's character Geet Dhillon in her. The film director Imtiaz Ali, even though one-film old at that time, became the most sought-after director in the industry. Actor Shahid Kapoor established himself as an exceptional artist, through Jab We Met, as he essayed the role of a quintessential knight-in-shining-armour through his incredible performance as Aditya Kashyap. These are just some of the benchmarks that the film has achieved.

The film opened to a thunderous response from the audiences all over the world. Jab We Met is recognised for its cinematography, locations, costumes and most importantly, for its dialogues. Kareena, Shahid and every character in the film have very memorable performances, and they will surely be remembered even in the years to come. The lead pair of Jab We Met, actors Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor gave one of their best performances and enticed the audience with their chemistry which came across as very organic and real.
"Main apni favourite hoon!"
There was something immensely likeable and charming about the way Kareena and Shahid enacted their roles. Kareena Kapoor's Geet Dhillon was nothing like the women we had seen in Hindi films for the longest time. She was like a storm that smashed whatever came in her way with her talkative and spunky attitude. She was unafraid of making mistakes in life and believed in moving on. Shahid Kapoor's Aditya Kashyap was the introverted, calm and rational man who complemented Geet's character in many ways.

Feel good something for everyone
The film Jab We Met was remade in Tamil as Kanden Kadhalai in which Bharath and Tamannaah stepped into Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor's shoes respectively. The film became an inspiration for many actors to join the film industry in the years to follow. The spell of Jab we Met lingers on, even after 12 years, as it takes us through a dreamscape where a boy meets a girl and their lives change forever.
