'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin' fame actor Karan Oberoi arrested over rape, blackmailing charges. Details here

Television actor Karan Oberoi who is well known for his stint in 2004 TV show, 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin' was arrested on Monday afternoon for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman, as confirmed by ANI. 

An FIR has been registered at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai under Section 376 and 384 (rape and extortion) of the Indian Penal Code against the actor.

As per sources, the actor allegedly raped the woman under the pretext of marrying her. "Oberoi not only raped the woman but also demanded money from the victim, threatening to release the video if she did not pay up, "as quoted by in the FIR.

 Oberoi has worked in various television series such as 'Inside Edge' and 'Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin'. 

Apart from featuring in shows and ads, Karan Oberoi is also a singer. He was a part of a pop band called Band of Boys, whose other members include Sudhanshu Pandey, Sherrin Varghese, Siddharth Haldipur and Chaitnya Bhosale. The band was formed in 2001.
