Alia Bhatt has teamed up with director Vasan Bala for the first time in their upcoming film, Jigra. The actress is not just the lead protagonist but also a co-producer, collaborating with Dharma Productions on this project. Recently, she dropped the teaser video and offered a glimpse of the film's theme.

A full circle journey

The teaser featured Alia Bhatt's voiceover, addressing the theme of protecting siblings. Additionally, it introduced an animated version of the actress, standing resolute in the rain, creating intrigue around the film's narrative. She can be heard saying, "Dekh mujhe. Meri rakhi pehenta haina tu? Tu mere protection mei hai. Tujhe main kuch bhi hone nahi dungi. Kabhi bhi (Look at me. You wear my rakhi right? You are under my protection. I won't let anything happen to you. Ever).”

Alia Bhatt expressed her excitement about Jigra and the journey it represents. She highlighted how it symbolises a full-circle moment, from her debut in a Dharma production to now co-producing a film with them.

Alia Bhatt's work life

Prior to Jigra, Alia Bhatt made her Hollywood debut in Heart Of Stone alongside Gal Gadot, where she portrayed an antagonist. She also starred as Rani in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which received acclaim from critics and audiences alike. This film marked her 10th-year anniversary in the film industry.

Alia Bhatt ventured into film production in 2022 with Darlings and launched her production house, Eternal Sunshine. Now, she's extending her producing portfolio by collaborating with Dharma Productions for Jigra.
