The producers of Shakuntala Devi - Human Computer are treating fans with one exciting news after the other! After Amit Sadh's addition to the already stellar cast of Vidya Balan and Sanya Malhotra, it’s now time for the talented Bengali film industry star Jisshu Sengupta to join the team. Known for his impeccable work in Bengali films, Jisshu has also made his mark on the wider Hindi audience with heart-stealing performances in films like Piku, Mardaani and Barfi. In Shakuntala Devi, Jisshu will be seen playing the on-screen husband of Vidya Balan and will share screen space with her for the second time, after their first outing in the NTR biopic.

Sharing his excitement, Jisshu stated that he was thrilled to be a part of Shakuntala Devi - Human Computer as well as to play the role of Paritosh Banerjee. He added that they have started shooting his parts for the film and also revealed that he has already shot some lovely scenes. While speaking about working with Vidya Balan, Jisshu Sengupta allegedly stated that working with Vidya is always fun. He added that there isn’t a single dull moment on the set when the Mission Mangal actor is around. He further said that Vidya and he are always laughing and joking. Sengupta also stated that working with Anu Menon, the director of the movie is great too! He praised her by saying that she is meticulous, knows exactly what she wants and is extremely patient. He concluded by saying that it is a great team to work with.

Talking about Jisshu Sengupta, the newest addition to the cast of the movie, director Anu Menon, said that Jisshu is perfect for the role of Paritosh Banerjee. She added that Sengupta is a rare mix of poise and intensity and that he and Vidya Balan make a wonderful pair. She revealed that the duo is always bursting into loud laughter every few seconds off-screen and that their chemistry is to watch out for.
Based on the life of the mathematics genius, or ‘human computer’, as she was famously called, Shakuntala Devi. The film is presently being shot in Mumbai after an extensive UK schedule. Produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions and Vikram Malhotra and directed by Anu Menon, Shakuntala Devi - Human Computer will see a worldwide release in the summer of 2020.
