John Abraham points out misinformation about pet animals amid COVID outbreak, BMC responds

With the frenzy of coronavirus on the rise, misconceptions about COVID-19 have spread like wildfire among the citizens. Actor John Abraham addressed one of them

Bollywood actor John Abraham took to social media to check one article by a local tabloid about misleading posters put up by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) that has lead to abandonment of pet animals by ir owners. With incidents such as se on rise, Satyamev Jayate actor addressed issue and clarified that 'animals do t transmit COVID 19' and that it is misinformation.

BMC authorities promptly responded to actor's post and issued an apology for misinformation through ir official Twitter handle. y also stated that all hoardings which created panic among pet owners and were on display throughout city as a measure to contain coronavirus have been taken down. John Abraham ackwledged ir response and advised his fans and followers to stay safe amid coronavirus crisis.

Animal Welfare Board Of India recently published a circular. In circular, AWBI clearly mentioned that animals do t spread vel Coronavirus. In circular, it is also mentioned that according to World Health Organization (WHO), cats and animals can t get infected in current scenario of coronavirus infection.  statutory advisory body published circular after ticing that many pet owners are abandoning ir pets due to spread of COVID19.
