Rahul Bose recently got a taste of unreasonable pricing at a high-end luxury hotel in Chandigarh. Bizarrely, Bose was charged Rs. 442 for two bananas after which he was left baffled. However, after tweet went viral, Excise and Taxation Department sent a three-member team and seized all records in connection with exorbitant GST rates charged by hotel. Reportedly, City Deputy Commissioner and Taxation Commissioner Mandip Singh Brar ordered a probe into matter after which team paid a visit to hotel. officials have stated that it is t only a case of 'illegal and exorbitant charge of GST' but it is also a violation of Consumer Protection Act.

And w in latest update posted by ANI, luxury hotel has been fined Rs 25,000 for violation of Section 11 of CGST, which is illegal collection of tax on an exempted item.

Although luxury hotel has been fined a heavy amount, netizens still can't seem to stop poking fun hotel. While one user wrote, "y will recover money by selling ten cups of tea", ar netizen remarked saying, " tale of two bananas continues".
Meanwhile, due to incident, Taj Hotels take a zinger at JW Mariott in an epic fashion. A tweet posted by a netizen featured an anuncement by Taj Hotels in which it pulled off a major zinger in an epic fashion directed at Mariott. It said that luxury hotel would be 'delighted' to serve complimentary seasonal fresh fruits.
