Earlier today, Youtube launched their list of 15 top viewed song videos in India. Out of these 15 songs, 7 songs from Indian movies made it to the list, 4 of which came from Bollywood, while 3 from South Indian cinema.
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke album got 2 spots
Just like the film itself, the soundtrack for Vicky Kaushal-Sara Ali Khan starrer Zara Hatke Zara Bachke was one of the most popular albums this year. Not so surprisingly, two songs from the album made it to the top 15 song videos this year. While the Aur Kya Chahiye song, sung by Arijit Singh, stood at 14th position, the heartwarming duet Tere Vaaste landed straight at number 2 in the rankings. Composed by Sachin Jigar and penned by notable lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya, Tere Vaaste is sung by multiple vocalists like Varun Jain, Shadab Faridi, Altamash Faridi and Sachin-Jigar themselves.
The Main Nikla Gaddi Leke reprised version for Sunny Deol’s blockbuster hit Gadar 2 secured the 15th position in the list. To date, the song has over 165 million Youtube views. Another chartbuster number that made it to the list is Kaavaalaa song from Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer, which also had a groovy dance performance from popular actress Nayanthara. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander and sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Kaavaalaa secured 7th position in the top-15 list, with a total of 363 million views, for both its lyrical video and song video versions combined.
Numero Uno spot went to a Bhojpuri song
Two of the other film songs that made it to the list are Pulsar Bike from Ravi Teja’s film Dhamaka, and Naa Ready from Thalapathy Vijay starrer blockbuster Leo, standing at 7th and 11th position respectively in the list.
The numero uno position, however, was bagged by a non-film song. The popular Bhojpuri song titled Dhani Ho Sab Dhan, sung by Pawan Singh and Shivani Singh continues to top the list with a total of 251 million Youtube views till date. Some of the other songs on the list are Zihaal e Miskin, crooned by Vishal Mishra and Shreya Ghoshal, B.Praak’s single Kya Loge Tum, and Heeriye, the popular collaborative single between singers Jasleen Royal and Arijit Singh.
