Actor Kangana Ranaut violated sanctioned plan while merging her three flats in Mumbai's Khar, a civil court remarked while rejecting her petition seeking to restrain Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) from demolishing unauthorized construction.

A court in suburban Dindoshi dismissed an application filed by actress last week for which full order has w come out. Judge LS Chavan ted that Ranaut, who owns three flats on fifth floor of a 16-storey building in Khar, merged m into one. In doing so, she covered sunk area, duct area, common pass and converted free Floor Index (FSI) into habitable area, judge observed.

"se are a grave violation of sanctioned plan for which permission of competent authority is required," court said.

BMC issues demotion tice to Kangana

BMC had in March 2018 issued a tice to Kangana Ranaut for alleged unauthorized constructions at her Khar flats. Ar tice demanded restoration of structure to its original position, warning that orwise unauthorized portion would be demolished.

Ranaut challenged tice and requested court to restrain Mumbai civic body from carrying out demolition. court had n ordered status-quo.

Since n, Judge Chavan rejected actor's application, saying "interference of this court is t required" in case. However, court has given her six weeks to approach Bombay High Court against order.

In ar case, BMC had demolished parts of Ranaut's bungalow in Pali Hill area on September 9, for alleged "unauthorized" construction. She moved High Court against it, which later termed BMC's action as illegal and malicious.
