After sending a legal tice to Entertainment Journalists Guild of India, Kangana Ranaut, through her legal team, has w sent a tice to Press Council of India after controversy over a ‘ban’ imposed on actress by media persons. In an official complaint filed with body, lawyers have urged Press Council of India to act against journalists involved in spat and ‘illegal’ formation of Entertainment Journalists Guild of India and reby a ‘cartel’ to target National Award-winner.

In tice, Kangana’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee has termed actions of journalist, Justin Rao, who got into a verbal spat with actress at an event for movie ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ as ‘absolutely unprofessionally and patently illegal acts’ which involves ‘ridiculing, anying, insulting, criminally intimidating and defaming’ actress and also ‘conniving’ with or journalists to create a ‘cartel’ by creating an ‘unregistered’ body called Entertainment Journalists Guild of India and trying to ‘extort an apology’ from Kangana through ‘threats, force, coercion and intimidation.’ It also stated that Entertainment Journalists Guild of India ‘illegally acted as a court/judicating’ authority to ‘illegally enforce a ban’ on Kangana. 

tice demanded, “That because of se illegal acts so brazenly indulged in by se journalists, it has become absolutely urgent and critical for your esteemed organisation to immediately act upon this complaint and invoke powers vested in your statutory body as per Section 13  of Press Council Act 1978, and to forthwith hold an inquiry into said matter as per Section 14 of said Act and decide on same in interest of Justice, as or Court is seized of said subject matter as yet.”

In tice, y even accused ar journalist Sanjay Mishra Katyani of being guilty of misusing his position as a journalist to ‘mischievously gain information’ regarding actress to ‘ridicule’ and ‘defame’ her.

This complaint follows legal team sending a tice to Entertainment Journalists Guild and giving m a 24-hour ultimatum to ‘rectify all wrongs’ on Saturday. 

Kangana h accused journalist, before he could complete his question, of running a ‘smear campaign’ against her, an allegation that was denied by him. or journalists h stood up for him, following which decision to enforce a ban on actress was taken by Entertainment Journalists Guild of India.

While one of producers, Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures expressed regret over incident, Kangana in a video, furr mocked fraternity. Her sister Rangoli Chandel has also been going hammer and tongs against media persons.
