The overwhelming response from the audience for the Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy has grabbed the attention of Bollywood filmmakers. The success of Kabir Singh substantiated by box office performances according to observers and pandits has proven that the audience are ready for more good remakes from the South. Adding to the list, actor Kangana Ranaut will soon be featured in an upcoming Hindi remake. Many news portals have reported that director Vikram Bhatt has acquired the rights for Hindi remake of the film Aadai. The reports also suggest that Kangana Ranaut will portray the lead character of the film.

If these reports are anything to go by, the Hindi remake of the film will be helmed by the same director Rathna Kumar. Talking about the film, Aadai was a debacle at the box-office, reportedly pulling in only meagre numbers. Several reviewers and box office analysts noted that the film failed to collect big returns, despite being one of the most critically acclaimed films of the year. Aadai narrates the story of a free-spirited young girl Kamini, who is stuck in an empty office building with no telephone, after a farewell party. She could not go out to ask help as she finds herself naked and in a very "delicate" situation. The lead character was portrayed by south actor Amala Paul. The film hit theatres this year in July.
The Queen of Bollywood was last seen sharing screen space with actor Rajkummar Rao in Prakash Kovelmudi's Judgementall Hai Kya. Currently, the actor is busy shooting her upcoming film Thalaivi, which is a biopic of the late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, popularly known as Amma in South India. The official announcement of the A.L Vijay directorial film is yet to be made. Apart from Thalaivi, another film of hers will hit the theatres in the year 2020, titled Dhaakad. The teaser and poster of the film were shared by the actor in July.
