Kareena Kapoor Khan gets a special message for Taimur from Kapil Dev, says ‘there can't be a better gift’

Kapil Dev wrote a special message for Taimur as he made an appearance on the Kareena Kapoor Khan-judged 'Dance India Dance.' He hoped Taimur plays for India some day in an autographed bat.

Won’t Taimur follow the path set by his parents, aunt and grandmother, but instead that of his grandfather? The star kid will be turning three in some months, but his mommy Kareena Kapoor Khan wants him to become a cricketer. Not just that, legendary cricketer Kapil Dev has sent a special message to the little one, hoping that he plays for India some day.

Kapil Dev bonds with Kareena over cricket

However, before that happens, Kareena showcased her skills in a cricketing encounter with Kapil Dev as he graced the show ‘Dance India Dance’, on which the actress is one of the judges. During the episode, the ‘Jab We Met’ star also said that she has a 'secret wish' that her son becomes a cricketer someday. 

The best part of the episode was towards the end, when Kareena asks Kapil Dev to write a message for Taimur on the bat with which they played. The 1983 World Cup-winning Captain then writes, “Taimur. Good luck. Hope you play for India some day.”

The actress then exults, “There cannot be a better gift than this for me.”

Taimur’s grandfather Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi aka Tiger Pataudi was a captain of the Indian cricket team for close to 10 years in the 60s, leading the team in 40 Tests.

While Taimur’s father Saif Ali Khan chose his mother Sharmila Tagore’s profession, his son Ibrahim has shown interest in cricket and often is spotted playing cricket. 

Kapil Dev's Bollywood connection

Meanwhile, Kapil Dev’s other association with Bollywood stars, has been with Ranveer Singh, who he is training for the movie ‘83’, based on the all-rounder's historic 1983 World Cup victory.
