Karisma Kapoor opens up about dealing with criticisms

Karisma Kapoor in a recent interview revealed how her mother's advice helped her cope up with the criticism that her song Sexy Sexy received. Read to know more.

Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor made her debut with Prem Qaidi, an official remake of Telugu movie Prema Khaidi. The movie was a runaway hit, making Kapoor an actor to reckon. The actor then went on to work in movies like Raja Hindusthani, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Shakti, among others. In a career spanning two decades, the actor has featured in more than 60 films. In a recent interview, the actor revealed how she mustered the courage to face the criticism she received for Sexy Sexy Mujhe song. 

The song, picturised on Karisma Kapoor, was composed by Anu Malik and crooned by Alisha Chinoy. The song received a lot of flak for the way it was filmed. The lyrics of the track were also a point of discussion. The actor, in a recent interview, revealed how her mother Babita Kapoor's advice helped her deal with the situation.

Babita Kapoor advised Karisma to concentrate on entertaining the audience. A small roadblock should not deter her from giving her best, as told to her by her mother. As per Karisma, the advice helped her deal with criticism better. She exclaimed how even on bad days she used to walk with her head straight and high.

Karisma Kapoor on her National Award

Karisma Kapoor bagged a National Award for her performance in Yash Chopra directorial Dil Toh Pagal Hai. The movie, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Karisma Kapoor in the lead, was a box office hit. Kapoor was seen playing the role of Nisha in the romantic drama. Kapoor vividly remembered how her contemporaries back then shied away from accepting a movie alongside Madhuri Dixit, who was a big star back then. All the female actors were worried about getting overshadowed by Dixit's aura and screen presence. But Karisma's optimistic attitude and prolific portrayal of Nisha helped her bag a National Award for the film.

The mother of two has been missing from the silver screen for a year now. The actor will next feature in ALT Balaji's forthcoming web series. The web series titled Mentalhood will star Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Suri in the lead. The actor recently announced the wrap of the shooting schedule with a social media post.
