Kartik Aaryan has been part of the entertainment world for almost a decade and a half now. Since he made his debut to date, the actor has given several hit movies such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luka Chuppi, Pati Patni Aur Woh and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Now, the actor is gearing up for the release of his next horror-comedy flick Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
As the movie is a week away from hitting the theatres, the actor was asked why most of the Bollywood movies struggling at the box office. The actor replied that it was not the audience's fault and spoke about the impact of OTT.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, the actor was asked about how the audience has become very critical of the movie and openly discusses their likes and dislikes. To this, the actor said it is not right to blame the audience for being vocal about their opinion. "Today, so many options have come. And with so many OTT platforms being there, there is so much to watch. We can't blame the audience because they are seeing a lot of things that are available. And I think it has gone on a 10× level after COVID," the actor added.

In the same conversation, the actor added with OTT platforms in being, it has become difficult for the filmmakers to draw the audience to theatres. Giving his example of watching movies in the comfort of his home, the actor added that there are so many options in terms of platforms as well. Owing to the increase in options, it has become difficult to attract the audience to theatres. "More than pleasing them, the audiences need a motivation to watch a particular movie in theatres only. 'It is a film that I will only enjoy in a community viewing. Not alone, pausing and resuming'", he explained.
He further mentioned that audience sometimes go to theatres having a fear of missing out (FOMO) and hopes that this never goes away.
