On October 14, ace filmmaker Zoya Akhtar turned a year older. She has directed blockbuster films like 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and 'Dil Dhadakne Do' and recently finished shooting for her next release 'Gully Boy' starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.

Zoya Akhtar is one of the current generation's favourite directors and shares a good rapport with Bollywood celebrities. Leading actresses Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif took to their Instagram stories to wish the supremely talented filmmaker.

Zoya Akhtar called in her birthday bash on the 13th night, and many popular celebs were spotted. Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri, Karan Johar, Kiran Rao, Sanjay, Maheep Kapoor, Chunky Panday, Dia Mirza, Anaita Shroff Adajania, Dolly Sidhwani, Sikander Kher, and many others gathered together to celebrate the filmmaker 46th birthday. Javed Akhtar (Zoya's father) and Shabana Azmi also arrived at the party venue.

Shah Rukh was casually dressed in black cargo pants with a grey hoodie while Gauri opted to wear blue denim jeans paired with a basic white top. SRK, who has worked with Zoya's brother Farhan in the Don franchise, also featured as one of the many guest stars in her 2009 multi-starrer film Luck by Chance. For her special day, Zoya Akhtar wore a black outfit and came out to greet the paparazzi with Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi.
Zoya Akhtar is considered among one of the most talented filmmakers in the country and is also actively involved with social activities. Currently, with the #MeToo controversy that's taking place, Zoya Akhtar along with other women filmmakers of the industry inclusive of Konkona Sensharma, Gauri Shinde, Alankrita Shrivastava, Kiran Rao, Meghna Gulzar, Nandita Das, Nitya Mehra, Reema Kagti, Ruchi Narain, and Shonali Bose have come out in support of the ongoing movement.
