Arjun Mathur has been around for over a decade with work in movies like ‘I Am’ and small roles in ‘My Name is Khan’ and ‘Luck By Chance’, among others. However, it wouldn’t be wrong to call ‘Made in Heaven’ his claim to fame since the web series has achieved success recently. Not many know that the actor had served as an assistant director on ‘Rang De Basanti’. Arjun recently shared a throwback snap from the cult movie's sets to show how far he’s come along from being an AD to a well-known actor. The 'Barah Aana' star also shared how much he learnt from Aamir Khan who appreciated Arjun for his growth over the years and praised the Zoya Akhtar-Reema Kagti web series.

Arjun shared a still from the sets where is ‘standing-in on mark’ during the shoot of the hard-hitting scene of Aamir aka DJ aka Chandra Shekhar Azad, all wounded and blood over him. The former wrote how his journey as an AD ended with 'RDB', a 'rebellion', 'movement' and 'much more than a film'. He fanboyed over Aamir in his learnings from the '3 Idiots' star, as was evident in his 'longing gaze.'
In the post, he wrote, “Major #throwback - the year 2005. Standing-in on mark for the ‘present day D.J.’ next to #ChandrashekharAzad for one of the past/present #VFX transition shots required for the #climax in #RangDeBasanti. #RDB was my fourth and last film as an #AssistantDirector (and the end of utility jackets for me). What an honour to have been a part of this #rebellion, this #movement. Yes, it was much more than a film. And what a grand privilege to have gotten to observe the genius and work-ethic of @_aamirkhan on not one, but two entire feature-films, even before I had started acting professionally. There’s just so much I’ve gotten to imbibe from this man.. and in case you can’t tell from my longing gaze, I’m forever #grateful for it. #Memories #MovieMagic #Journey#PartOfThePlan #AamirKhan.”

With the number of ADs on a film set, one could forgive an actor for forgetting the many faces they deal with, but not Aamir. The ‘Perfectionist’ replied, “Hey Arjun, so wonderful to see you doing such great work. I really enjoyed Made in Heaven. Love, a.”
