Jackie Shroff gets replaced by Mahesh Manjrekar in Mumbai Saga

Jackie Shroff has reportedly made an exit from the Gangster drama film Mumbai Saga. The makers have now roped in Mahesh Manjrekar to play the important role.

Jackie Shroff was earlier set to be a part of the Mumbai Saga team but has exited from the project now due to a scheduling conflict, as per an entertainment portal. The actor was supposed to play an important role in the movie which will now be reportedly played by actor Mahesh Manjrekar. The film will be directed by Sanjay Gupta who has previously directed Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer Kaabil. Mumbai Saga will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anuradha Gupta, and Sangeeta Ahir.

In an interview with a leading portal, Sanjay Gupta expressed his desire of working with Jackie Shroff. He said that he was really looking forward to working with the actor. He even talked about his bond with actor Mahesh Manjrekar as the two of them have also previously worked in thriller-drama Kaante which was released in the year 2002. Jackie Shroff was supposed to play the role of a Maharashtrian politician in Mumbai Saga. But since he is no longer in the film, the role will be now portrayed by Mahesh Manjrekar. The film is a gangster drama that is set in the era of the 1980s and 1990s. It will rediscover the time when Bombay was transformed into Mumbai. The film will also focus on the strong influence of the underworld in Mumbai. The film will hit the screens on June 19, 2020. The film also features John Abraham, Suniel Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, Amole Gupte, Samir Soni, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Emraan Hashmi, and Rohit Roy.

Mahesh Manjrekar has worked as an actor, director, and producer in the Hindi film industry. He has also been a part of regional cinema and received critical acclaim for his strong and powerful performances which have earned him a National award and two Star screen awards. The 61-year-old actor was recently seen playing a negative role in the Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Saaho which was directed by Sujeeth. He has also hosted both the seasons of Big Boss Marathi.
