Starting off as a sleeper hit, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ surprised one and all by becoming one of the biggest hits of this year. While the movie recently gave away the title of the year’s highest-grossing film to ‘Kabir Singh’, its impact is still fresh in people’s minds even after six months. This was evident with the war drama being screened for children of Special Homes in Puducherry on Saturday. Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi conveyed her gratitude to the makers, who wrote that they were ‘deeply honoured.’

Bedi on Twitter shared that the screening was held at the Raj Niwas, the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor, while conveying her ‘heartfelt gratitude’ to the makers for allowing the screening. She also shared pictures of the children enjoying the movie, from her personal handle.

The director of the film, Aditya Dhar, was flattered with the initiative of the Puducherry government and hoped that his film encourages the children to serve the nation. He replied, “I am deeply honoured!! I truly hope URI keeps motivating our younger generation to join hands in serving our great nation to the best of their abilities. Thanks so much for this wonderful initiative! Jai Hind!”
